Brett Lamel

Brett Lamel is a trombonist and educator based in Dallas, TX. Along with performing regularly in the local jazz scene with various acts, Brett has worked with artists across all genres such as pop artists (Jennifer Hudson, Frankie Valli), salsa singers (Willie Gonzalez, David Pabon), local classical ensembles (McKinney Philharmonic, Imperial Brass), international artists (Marisela, Shadmehr Aghili), tribute acts (Emerald City Bands), and more. In 2021 and 2022, he served as the touring trombonist for Mexican pop star Marisela, traveling across the U.S., Mexico, and Central America, performing in large venues for sold out crowds.
As an educator, Brett’s students have found success, earning spots in their respective competitive region and state ensembles. Brett’s students have also been selected to perform in extra curricular ensembles such as Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra, Greater North Texas Youth Orchestra, Dallas Asian American Youth Orchestra, and have participated with a high rate of success in various extracurricular solo contests and summer programs.
Brett holds a BM in Music Education from the University of Delaware, and an MM in Jazz Performance from the University of North Texas, where he was a member of the One O’Clock Lab Band.
